Advocacy for Syria
What is Happening?
After more than a decade of war, Syria awoke to a new future with the sudden fall of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad. The country faces an acute humanitarian and economic crisis as it looks to rebuild. Massive destruction is widespread, and nearly half the country’s pre-war population are displaced. Meanwhile, Syrian refugees face the threat of forcible return despite grave risks.ÂÂ
What Must Be Done?
Syrian NGOs and communities on the front lines are critical partners for aid access and provision to Syrians across the country. Palestine Refugee Agency is advocating for robust support for the humanitarian response in Syria and for safe and dignified returns for Syrians going back to their country.
