Advocacy for United States

What’s Happening?

The second Trump administration is working to dismantle the refugee resettlement system and end the asylum system codified in U.S. law in 1980. It is invoking extraordinary executive and war powers to ban refugees from coming to the United States, eliminate access to protection at the southern border, revoke the statuses and protections from those already in the United States, and deport humanitarian migrants regardless of the risk of harm. It is also eliminating foreign aid to countries facing crisis and displacement.

What Must Be Done?

Palestine Refugee Agency is calling on the United States to abide by its own and international legal obligations with respect to refugees and asylum seekers. Both the U.S. Refugee Resettlement Program and U.S. aid must be restored because they are lifesaving and crucial to global stability and U.S. interests.
